The Medium

The medium I work with for my portraits is charcoal with pastel highlights on lightfast grey or buff pastel paper.  And the portrait will be  based on a good quality detailed photo.  The Photographs can be emailed to me, so no need to send them by post.

How Much Notice?

I normally require at least two months notice for the commission.  This gives me enough time to complete it and then get it professionaly mounted so it will be  ready for framing by the purchaser.  Please note,  that if you are planning  your portrait as a Christmas gift, then please allow me more time as this is a very busy time of year for me.

Keeping You Updated By Emails

As with the prophetic art commissions, I will submit by email photo’s to you  the progress of the portrait and a final one on completion for your approval.

If you live locally you also have the option to visit my studio, (But this would be by appointment only.) not only to see how I am progressing but also to pick up your portrait once it’s finished if you wish.

Payment Of The Portrait

I will email you an invoice  with a web link to pay by, I will require a 50% deposit when  your order is confirmed and the remaining amount after your approval  on completion.  Your portrait will then be posted. If you live locally you would be welcome to pick it up from the studio.

Packaging etc

There are two main reasons why I don’t have the portraits fully framed. one is that frames come in many styles, colours and prices, all of which can be highly personal choices. What I would like may not be what you’d like, afford or it may not work with your home dacor. The second reason is because of the fragility of the  picture glass in the postal system, how ever well it has been packed.  The picture glass being only 2mm in thickness is easily broken and could easily cut or damage the delicate surface of the picture.
