The Pure Flame of Pentecost

When a believer in Christ is filled/Baptised with the Holy Spirit he is  engulfed in the fire of the Holy Spirit. (Acts2:1-4) This is when God fills the believer with power & anointing from on High.   John the Baptist also prophesied that this would happen when he said…

Luke 3:16  I baptise you with water. But one who is more powerful than I will come, the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie. He will baptise you with the Holy Spirit and fire”.

The Symbolism in the Painting

In this painting the flame is a pure flame. (Natural pure flames are always blue & purple.)  The Holy Spirit is totally pure as it comes from God,  and is part of the Trinity.  Through the ages colours have always been symbolic in paintings. Here blue  represents God’s presence, purple God’s Kingship & Royalty, and white is for purity. The gold leaf represents the purification of man’s heart and soul as gold or silver is refined in a fire. Then finally his posture represents his total surrender to God. (Romans 12:1)

About The Painting Itself.

I love this painting . It’s a picture of total surrender to the Holy Spirit.  I have  painted it on a deep frame canvas and the painting extends down the sides top and bottom. To set the rich colours of this painting off and to show it at its best I have had it framed in a soft black “Floating Frame.”  so you can still see some of the details down the sides.

I have also had this painting strung at the back so it is ready to hang straight away after unwrapping. If you have any questions concerning this painting please don’t hesitate in emailing me and I will do my best in answering it.
